Every marine recruit will practice Close Order Drill, marching in formation, from the day they begin training through the day they graduate. In battle, the discipline they have learned through drilling will keep their platoon working as a team and focused on their mission.

Members of the Silent Drill Platoon are handpicked to represent the Marine Corps and exemplify Marine Corps discipline and skill.
